Q: Help me understand the Traditional Co-op Class versus the “For Credit” Class?
A: Sure! That is what we are here to do assist and serve you.
We are pleased to educate families concerning our two-tiered class arrangement ‘traditional ‘ classes versus ‘for credit ‘ classes. Both are amazing and beneficial. Co-op families have the ability to choose what best suits their children and schedule.
Our “traditional” classes are tried and true, educational, and interesting. Class topics are varied ranging from hobbies to academics. Students do not receive a grade, but are expected to participate in class and complete assignments, if given.
The “for credit” class is a relatively new offering at our Co-op. They are designed to be structured, academic and “tuition-free.” A homework policy is a part of the class, with the expectation of completed outside classwork. Students receive a grade at the end of each semester, and are exposed to the tactics of classroom setting dynamics.
The “for credit” classes are a tool for homeschool families to use to meet educational requirements established by the state.
Apologia Science and Saxon Math are common curriculums taught by our teachers. We also offer other classes that are “for credit.”
Please view the catalog for detailed information concerning all our classes. We are happy to serve you and your family.
Blessings!
